The breakfast was amazing! It was served in the most lovely setting on the veranda of the main property and started with fresh juice and coffee and only got better from there. The room I stayed in was also lovely and included a hammock that was a pleasure to swing in. I left my necklace at the property and Marcia got back in touch with me promptly to organise its return. I couldn’t rate this property higher.
Marcia serves absolutely delicious breakfasts. The homegrown, freshly prepared passionfruit juice was the best fruit juice I have had anywhere. But the best part about our stay was receiving such a lovely warm welcome from Marcia and getting to know this vibrant, friendly, helpful person. She is a truly wonderful hostess and went out of her way to make our stay with her memorable.
Marcia was the best hostess I’ve ever had in all my travels. She was waiting for us when we arrived and was always available at a moment’s notice. She is a great listener and conversationalist in multiple languages. The breakfast she puts together is divine and all the small riches in every part of the property make it a comfy, cozy, artsy getaway from the world.
We absolutely adored Marcia, she is a real host, which is very rare to find these day. From the arrival to the departing we were overwhelmed with the welcome and generosity we received. Even taking time to drive us around to show us all the important things like banks, local shops and routes direct into town. I high recommend this place to any visiting florianopolis.
I had a wonderful time at this jewel of a B&B. Marcia (the owner) is the perfect host, she and her place highlight all the great things about this type of accommodation: personal and informal instead of corporate, business-like service, staff with local knowledge instead of out-of-town seasonal workers, personalised tips for things to do instead of the standard hotel brochure, warm and lovingly furnished rooms instead of cold cop&paste furniture. Highlights for me were definitely the breakfast (which will easily last you until dinner), the time and effort Marcia put into organising the perfect vacation for me (excursions, spa, surfing-school, restaurants, etc.) and the bright and colourful room I had. Janela de Marcia is in a quiet neighbourhood but there are many restaurants, bars and shops in walking distance. A car can be handy, especially for visiting the numerous beaches around the island, but bus, taxi and walking worked just fine for me.
I loved the artistic touches and the fun unique atmosphere of our treehouse room. It was so much fun to stay with Marcia & she was every bit at wonderful as all the reviews say. I hated to leave! I really appreciate Marcia being flexible to help us the day we were leaving! She makes you feel like you are a welcome friend staying at her place.
Great and varied breakfasts, lovely warm hospitality
The host Marcia is a lovely personality, very caring and also well organized. Breakfast was truly amazing, with fruit and vegetables from the garden, and the best eggs I’ve had in my whole life. Really!
Breakfast is one of the best I ever had. Marcia, the owner, is a true character. She is so much fun, we went to the movies with her, had breakfast together with her friends and a beautiful birthday dinner. Unbelievable experience, feeling so at home there!
The crew was really good, always trying to help. The hotel itself is in a very good state. Everything is clean and in a good state.
