This property is of a high standard. They have really thought about guests needs with loads of storage, lighting and sockets, a really good shower and a large comfortable bed. This is a hotel quality room and exceptionally clean. It is close to the town centre so you can get to everything on foot. If you’ve come in the car there is public parking 5 mins from the apartment, 4 Kuna per hour (free 10pm till 8am) so bring coins with you. Thank you Ivan, you are a great host and have a lovely property.

Hotel just across the Academia Bridge with the best view overlooking the Grand Canal, it is just magical! The outside and inside is lit with many candles with wonderful ambience, it is a real palazzo with grand drawing room and salon. The grand drawing room is set as a fine dining restaurant at night, it has the most romantic ambience with great food! Music is tastefully jazz! Room size is good and bed is comfortable with good back support.

The breakfast was really good and parking was free.

Best value for your money that you will ever find in a large city like Berlin. Great location in Friedrichshain where we wanted to be. Clean and quiet room, which is all that is needed when exploring the city. Very good WiFi (for mobile VoIP). Friendly staff. Don’t be put off by the young crowd and the designation "hotel/hostel".

Location, definitely! Its steps away from the Vatican Museum entrance.

Location and in house laundry. Quite good value for money.

The room was quite big for Japan standard and the staff of the hotel are really welcoming.

Location is good. Th breakfast is good, but a little on the expensive side if you are not a big eater. The staff are very friendly and speak very good English. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice.

Loved the little extras like communal cappuccino machine, a welcome drink each night, free laundry facilities etc and the restaurant was really good too.

Convenient location. The room is clean and comfortable.

Great location 5 minutes walk from Kyoto train station. A little hard to find at first, our taxi driver failed to find it (it shares a building with the Drivers Licence Renewal Centre) – and reception is hidden away behind doors. Location is central to all transport including buses. Good places to eat surrounding, including a Starbucks for your daily coffee fix. Room was a good size, and bathroom included a shower room. Plenty of space for luggage storage. We had a late train back to Tokyo, and the hotel were happy to hold on to our luggage until the afternoon even though we had checked out earlier.

Location is excellent, near Old Town Square and there are restaurants nearby. Room comfortable

Big room for Japan, comfortable bed, there was a computer with internet connection in the room. It’s located in the quite place.

It’s a comfortable little apartment and members of the stuff are really nice and helpful, especially Yukima. It’s close to buses and a big supermarket. We loved staying there.

Pros: 1. The location is good: within a 10 minute walk from THREE different train lines, and about a 6 minute easy bus ride to Kyoto Station. The area is easy to navigate. There is food and lots of handy marts in the area. 2. The size. Most Japanese hotels are TINY. We had a lot of space in this one. 3. Washing Machine + Soap is provided in each room! Whattttt! This was so great. It was about 1 million degrees when we visited Japan for 8 days, so it was really nice to be able to do our laundry in Kyoto. 4. Price- You get A LOT of value for the price! 5. Cleanliness- This place was very tidy and did NOT smell like cigarettes- which was my experience all over Japan- even in rooms that claim to be "non-smoking". 6. The bed- Very soft! Not traditional Asian style of a very firm mattress.

The whole place was very clean and comfy with a good size and good interior equipment. The design is a good mix between Japanese and western style, which was very nice. We went around with bikes (rentable there) and for that it is a good, central location. Also a big plus, the staff spoke English really well which made check in and asking for directions very easy.

Location and views were excellent. Office staff very helpful but only available up to 9pm. Our flight was delayed and we emailed ahead to let them know we would arrive after 9pm. Worked very easily but had to wait until following morning for local info.

Yukiko (staff) was super friendly, and took a couple of us out for sukiyaki. Jiro (the most important staff member, also a dog) was cute and playful. People coming in and out gave the place a family vibe and after a day I thought I might skip a deadline and stay longer (another guest skipped a flight to stay another night!). Old Kyoto building was interesting and it had modern bathrooms/showers, and a massage chair. BREAKFAST was huge and had a lot of variety. The place also has party nights, tea ceremonies and the owner will ferry you to a public bath at no charge. There is good reason this place is so highly rated. If anyone badmouths it, it is probably just to try to keep it to themselves.

One of the best hostels we’ve been at! Amazing staff, clean, and every Friday there’s dinner with all the guests. Super fun, would stay there again!

The stuff is great, the facilities are good, great breakfast and it is a good place to meet other people. On friday night we made a barbecue and a little party and it was great: a lot of people and a lot of food (also free beer) all of this free of charge.

I really like the staff there. They are so helpful, kind and nice. I love the breakfast there and free public bath. They were just made my trip. I have already recommend a friend to stay in October. Hope she will enjoy to stay.

Great team, very helpful. The traditional family house is in a quiet street, . Breakfast is served with various specialties, fresh fruits, cakes, etc.. Easy to reach from subway and many buses to access.

The staff were very welcoming and warm, they were helpful with any questions/requests and they were always willing to help. The hostel is very clean and it has the best massage chair! There is also a very friendly doggo, Yuro, who made us feel even more welcome

We had a very nice stay in this Japanese house. We had a big room for our family. Very friendly people, very very good breakfast! The party on friday was super, love the game catch the noodles, the food was great en we had a lot of fun with all the people. Saturday we eat in the house and they made a lovely diner, never ate so good in Japan for that price and in general 😃 My daughters were in love with Jiro! This is for sure the place to stay in Kyoto!

Very nice hotel at the edge of the city of Kyoto. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable!

Very nice Hotel, luckily I had a huge room with Tatami-mats and three big beds and a huge window. If you want to go to central Kyoto: They offer regular free transport to Kyoto Station/back to Hotel in the morning and afternoon.

Hotel staff very kind and helpful, location is ok, I have chosen it considering the position and the fact that they have parking on site, as travelling by car. Rooms are so so…

The beds were comfy and the view of the temple was lovely.

Nice room. Nice location (very near Higashi-Honganji, underground walk way, and taxi stop).

Super near to the Kyoto station (here you can find a lot of eating and shopping options) Personal was nice and they have umbrellas for the guests (thing that comes very handy in japan). The room was confortable and there are enough bathrooms for all the guests. The common room is nice and a good place to rest.

5 mins walk from Kyoto Station, but if you are using Hankyu Line, like i did, please plan properly, as this hotel is far from Hankyu line’s train station.

This is a fantastic hostel, very homely! And the staff were outstanding.. they made my visit one to remember. Always happy to help and assist me with any questions or queries. The location is perfect!

Kyoto Hana Hostel very near to the Kyoto Station. Only need 7-10 mins walk. We booked for room with private bath. The bathroom uses a bathtub with hot water, so you can relax after a tired day. We sleep use futon, comfort, the linen was clean and we can sleep well:) Very near to convenience stores and near to Sukiya restaurant (only need 3 mins walk!). The staffs very helpful and friendly, easy to communicate with them (they speak English well).

The duvet was great, the bottom bunk I stayed in was cozy (had a ‘fort’ kinda feeling with the curtain closed!) and I was warm. Perfect for my overnight. I liked that the bathrooms were private stalls (like a closet) and it’s gender neutral..the showers seemed to be the same but I didn’t use it during my stay. I wish there had been items like toothpaste/shampoo/etc…toiletries are not available (unless you ask the front desk? I never tried tbh) so bring your own toothpaste etc. I would return again.

They keep the luggage after checkout without fees.

Great hostel – we had a private room & bathroom, everything was clean and suited exactly what we needed. We used bikes from the hostel – highly recommended. Excellent location, close to the train station and close to great restaurants.

We arrived beyond the check-in time but they gave us info to get in and flexibility to check out the next day. We wanted to try sleeping on tatami and it was an interesting experience. Hallway was super narrow you can’t turn wearing a bag without knocking into something – this was interesting to me. They allow for luggage storage.

The coffee shop next to reception is very good Rooms are very reasonable, you will need the air con on in summer

Great gem…amazing staff who went through everything to make us feel at home…very spacious…beautiful garden…attentive and informative and respectful staff…considerate…clean facilities..the staff dropped us to the next hotel because it was raining and my wife was pregnant..amazing…they even took pictures of us at the garden and waiting for perfect time to set it up…they also brought us a bag with the food that we forgot in the fridge and even managed to get us a stamp for our letter and even sent it… Great home cooked meal …gives experience that many ryokans don’t of living in a Japanese house…and yeah you’re the only guests so you really feel home…

everything is perfect, I think pervious review had already made it pretty clear, but it still surprise me when i stayed in Jeugiya. When we left, it was rainy, the host even gave us a umbrella (we don’t have one), it was really nice and sweet

Very friendly owners. They did everything they could do to make us comfortable. You can order a traditional Japanese breakfast and that is really delicious. I would recomend you to do so at least one morning. The house is beautiful. There are 2 toilets (one indoor and one outdoor) and an indoor bathroom. You sleep on the ground floor. There are 2 (by sliding doors separated) rooms where you can sleep. The garden is beautifull too.

I feel like home! They were so nice and helpful. The father of the house even bring us to see the fire flies in the evening and walk us to a local restaurant (even negotiate with the owner of late dinner)

We spent two wonderful days in the marvellous setting of this beautiful Ryokan, assisted by a most gracious and pleasant family in an unobtrusive, elegant and refined way. We would love to return anytime.

Actually I don’t understand why they got 9.9 rate. It should be a 10! This is the best stay I have ever had. It’s even better than any 5-star hotel. It gave you a warm-welcomed and home-like feeling. The host provided a lot of information and helped to book local restaurants. The location was great. You can feel the local Kyoto neighborhood. You only need to take a few walks to shopping and transportation area and it’s also very close to many famous spots, while it’s really quiet during the night. The breakfast was fabulous. You can taste the authentic Kyoto style cuisine. There’s interaction between the host and the tenant. Staying here would bring you a life-time memory.

We really enjoyed the stay in Jeugiya and the experience couldn’t be better. The garden, the breakfast and of course, every member of the family are JUST INCREDIBLE. REALLY recommend!

Jeugiya is an exceptional place and it is managed by exceptional people. Truly a humbling experience.

Perfect location for my trip, very friendly staff, good breakfast. Great price and service for the price. The size of the room was a bit small but considering the average size in japan i believe it was quite roomy. I will definately visit again next time.

The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Attentive and offered great service. The facilities are traditional Japanese style and they offer a delicious Japanese breakfast.

Great place to stay, excellent location. Nice public bath, large rooms. Could use a little refresh on some of the doors but tatami mats very comfortable. Bathrooms in room were exceptionally large for a Ryokan.

Our room was exceptionally clean, bedding comfortable and staff really friendly. It was our first stay in a ryokan-style hotel and we were a little clueless about breakfast (making tofu, what goes with what, in what order) and the lady who served our breakfast was gracious and very helpful. The bathing facility is also sparkling clean and a great treat at the end of a day’s sightseeing. This hotel is also beautifully located near to so many cafes, restaurants, Nishiki market and shops, ideal spot!

The host came to pick us up from the station and dropped us off as well! The house is gorgeous located close to kiyomizudera, the hosts are extremely friendly and the house is very clean and tidy.

子供2名と夫婦で2泊しました。京都の趣を残したまま、設備は最新の古民家で、本当に気持ちよく過ごすことができました。場所は清水寺、三年坂、東寺から徒歩10分圏内で観光にも便利です。ただ初めて行く場合は場所が難しい。タクシー運転手もわからず、宿のご主人に近くまでお迎えに来ていただきました。朝食のパンもとってもおいしく、子供が喜ぶお菓子屋なども用意していただき、素晴らしいおもてなしを満喫しました。京都に行く際はまたぜひ行きたいと思います。

Das ist ein frisch renoviertes kleines Ferienhaus am Stadtrand. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe renoviert und eingerichtet und das junge Vermieterpaar ist äußerst engagiert und hilfsbereit. Unweit von einigen Sehenswürdigkeiten, aber abends hat man richtige Ruhe zum Erholen. Das Frühstück, Kekse und verschiedene Getränke sind inklusive. In der Küche kann man selber Salat oder Kleinigkeiten zubereiten und im Mikrowellenherd kann man auch etwas warm machen.

２泊させて頂いたのですが、施設は文句なくとてもきれいで隅々までオーナーさんの心遣いが感じられました。冷蔵庫にもサービスの飲み物や朝食、アルコール類のサービスもありました。最上級ホテルのようなおもてなしをしてもらったと思います。京都ならではの雰囲気を存分に味わうことができ、本当に気持ちよく過ごさせていただきました。彼氏の誕生日祝に宿泊したのですが、彼氏も大喜びでした！オーナーさんにとても良くしてもらいまた絶対に来たいと思う宿です。清水寺もすぐの距離なので観光にも便利だと思います。またよろしくお願いします！！

距离清水寺步行十分钟，打车去京都站大概1600日元。距离清水寺公交站步行十分钟。房子十分干净。房东夫妇非常非常和善，各种设备齐全。去京都站乘车房东会开车去送。房屋是两层的，一层有厨房客厅浴室餐厅还有一个小花园。二层为两间卧室和卫生间。主卧室有露天阳台，两张大单人床、衣柜、两张单人沙发、梳妆台。次卧室有两张双人床、梳妆台。可以容纳六个人入住。每天可以与房东预约早餐时间，每天的早餐都不一样。很好的住宿体验。 10mins walk from Kiyomizu-dera，taxi from Kyoto station cost 1600 yen. 10 mins walk from bus stop, very neat place.Landlord couple are very kind, all equipments are well prepared. In the morning landlord drove us to Kyoto station. Thank you! The house has two floors, on the first floor there are kitchen, living room, dinning room, bath room and a lovely small garden. On the second floor there are two bedrooms and toilet. The main bedroom has two big single beds, two single sofa, wardrobe, make up table and balcony. The second bedroom has two double beds and make up table. The entire house can stay 6 people. Every morning can book breakfast time with landlord, very delicious. Excellent experience!

The room was clean (extremely important), comfortable and offered everything we needed.

The staff is extremely nice, they helped us a lot to book restaurants and to make other arrangements by phone. The location is excellent, right in the middle of Gion, with countless food options around.

Amazing location in the heart of Gion and full of restaurants within walking distance. Super-friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms.

The hotel is brand new so all the facilities are new and clean. The room had enough space, although the bathroom was a bit too small.

The location was excellent. Walking to numerous saki houses, and local Japanese food establishments.

Nice big room, with a lot of space for luggage and walking around. Special bonus – a table with two chairs so you can have a glass of beer sitting up :-)). Right in the middle of Gion, walking distance to most of the shrines and temples. Good food all around. The staff was really helpful and the hotel is much nicer than expected.

The staff went above and beyond to help me, even when I needed to come back to Tokyo they helped me with my JR reservations. Very kind and polite with a professional attitude. Facilities are great the room bag very big, bed was comfy and internet was great quality!!!
