My family loves coming to Estes Park. Being in the mountains and enjoying the snow and all the Elk. We love smokin Dave's BBQ. Plenty of shops and the owner's are very friendly. We will keep coming back.

My son and I were in Estes Park in February and the weather...
My son and I were in Estes Park in February and the weather was sunny, yet cold and quite windy. There was an almost 20 degree Farenheit temperature difference when coming from Denver. The drive from Denver to Estes Park is an awesome experience in itself. From Lyon, you start to drive up on a windy road surrounded by mountains on both sides. It goes from 5000ft to 7500ft. The drive is very beautiful and once you climbed up Rt. 36, you start to descend just a bit and then, you come around a curve and there lays, in a valley, Estes Park with a beautiful lake, surrounded by snow tipped mountains. Estes Park is a small town with a main street, lots of unique stores, a unique looking movie theater, and many restaurants. There is a Safeway and Dollar Tree and I don't think that there are any other grocery stores there. Estes Park is also very close to the entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park and the home of the famous "Stanley" Hotel, which was used in the movie "The Shining". We also drove around in the surrounding area and found a few great roads that lead to parks and trails. I have truly enjoyed my 4 day stay in Estes Park and hope to be back soon.

Off-season, a great mountain town next to the Rocky Mountains. Enough stuff to do and keep busy for our trip! Ate at Rock Inn, Casa Colina and Hunters Chop House, all fun places. Getting around was pretty easy off-season, though there's a large parking lot near the entrance of Elkorn street.

Estes Park is a popular tourist destination next to Rocky...
Estes Park is a popular tourist destination next to Rocky Mountain National Park, RMNP, in north central Colorado. It is in a stunning location. The downtown is quite touristy and in the summer, parking is difficult but doable. Estes Park is a destination in itself but surrounded by a larger destination- RMNP. In one day we saw mountain goats, deer and a herd of elk. The elk winter in Estes Park itself. The animals are magnificent but also a bit troublesome for the residents. But what a problem to have.
We spontaneously stayed at Hotel Estes for 1 night and we really had a wonderful stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly, our pet friendly room was spacious and clean with lots of amenities. Very comfortable beds! The free continental breakfast is pretty nice and includes coffee, tee, juice, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, bread, danish, joghurt, fruit and hardboiled eggs. We were pleasantly surprised. The location is in walking distance to city center, if you don't mind walking a few minutes. There is a lovely walkway by the lake.
This inn was a very pleasant surprise! We had been to Estes Park in the past and were never particularly thrilled by the available accommodations. The Maxwell Inn changed that. The best feature is that the room and grounds are impeccably CLEAN. Our room (#21) was recently renovated and everything about it was delightful - the furnishings, the bed linens, the fluffy towels, and (of course) the cleanliness. The patio areas are very nice and quite relaxing.
It was our first time in Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park, and we made this hotel our basecamp which was the best decision. The location is perfect, not far from the busy areas but still won't miss the action. Our room was big and comfortable and all facilities were in good shape. The staff at the front desk was always helpful, gave us very nice recommendations in what to do. Thank you for making our experience memorable!
Pam and Charles are wonderful hosts! We enjoyed visiting with them around the fire pit making s’mores. The cabin was clean and the attention to details stood out… extra heated towels, great little kitchen was perfect for our needs… peaceful setting, nature and wildlife, close to downtown Estes Park, and to many great restaurants, shopping, and hiking trails. Pam gave us the inside local info on best places to go! We will be back.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was great; no complaints there. The lobby was nice and we actually hung out in the lobby one night as they had board games available to guest and an outdoor seating area. Overall I do recommend this place as a stay in Estes park and location was great; but did feel that cost per night was excessive. Evidently hotel books out months in advance over the summer so that is probably why.
Good location for The Egg breakfast place. Truck delivery (tractor-trailer) kept pulling up and then backing up constantly to the hotel with headlights on at 4 AM in the morning to adjust his trailer so he didn't have far to walk to make his delivery with the handtruck. This went on for about 10 minutes. Good location for walking to a lot of shops in Estes Park. Very short drive to Rocky Mtn Natl Park. Very clean.
We loved the stunning setting with the river running by, the outdoor space with hot tub, and the very comfortable and spacious interior. We also valued being a 6 mins drive from the Rocky Mountain Park Gate and even less from Estes Park town centre with its’s nice shops and restaurants, and handy Safeway Superstore close by!
Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was a good continental with surprisingly good southern-style gravy for the biscuits. My travel companion also noted this. The room was clean. Water was hot. It's Estes Park so good location is a given in such a small town.
The elk we got to encounter was the best we have had since we have been visiting the last 11 years. That you can access your room from inside the hotel and on the outside through your own personal door. Ample space for parking. Was able to take our dogs.
The location was great, just outside Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park Colorado. The grounds of Streamside were beautiful, with tall pine trees and a small river running along the property. It was quiet and restful.
Perfectly located right in the Rockies near RMNP. The included breakfast buffet is very good. Our room was very quite. We enjoyed the stay. If I ever come back to Estes Park I will stay with the YMCA again.
One of the few pet friendly hotels in Estes. Convenient location for nearby activities. Comfortable beds. Great staff and service, excellent and timely communication.
