Loved staying at Small House Big Door! My boyfriend and I were traveling around South Korea for a several weeks and stayed at SHBD on three separate occasions, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. We also managed to sample three different rooms at the hotel and they all were slightly different in layout, but all consistent in their comfort, amenities, and cleanliness. There’s a great little restaurant in the lobby of the hotel, not to mention numerous places to eat and drink on the street and within easy walking distance. The location can’t be beat, so close to all kinds of attractions, eateries, museums, parks, as well as bus and subway lines. Can’t recommend enough!
This hotel was a nice little enclave in central Seoul, close to the metro and a lot things a tourist would be interested in. They were great about tidying up the room and everything felt clean and organized. The check in / check out procedures were efficient and easy. I love how they made such efficient use of space that the dorm-size room didn’t feel that small.

small house big door is a value for money concept hotel staff there speak good english and are friendly and helpful especially to staff call so lui lim – he recommend and help us find the strawberry farm and he is a detail person to even help use translate from english words to hangul so that we can show the driver he even help us carry the heavy lugguage in and out of lift and hotel overall the stay was fantastic and enjoying cosy stay even we didnt ask to for making of room the hotel staff will leave clean towel and drinking water as well as shampoo cleanse and foam for us daily do not hesitate to book this hotel
Comfortable queen size bed with four pillows, a working airconditioner, nice room size for two person and free americano! Also, a great location, near the subway and airport bus/shuttle.
A perfect place to explore Seoul. Right in the centre with extremely helpful English-speaking staff that go out of there way to make your stay comfortable. Rooms are (Seoul-style) small but have all the amenities one needs as a base for Seoul exploration. Restaurants and bars extremely close, including some local chain bakeries and coffee places if you do not want to dive into Korean-style food right away. The bistro and bar in the hotel is a good stop if you arrive late and want a burger and beer or so (locals eat there too, appeared popular for a drink and bite). The internet in the rooms was one of the fastest and best we had in years of travel. Public transport is close by but you can walk to some of the top sites and areas in 15-25 minutes.
Plain and simple style with everything you need.
Great location, loved the clothing rack and the mini-closet; which some places I stayed at in Seoul did not provide well for, and the interior design and size of the room was much better than average. I felt very comfortable there like it was my own little apartment.
Very friendly receptionists with good English! Got some cookies upon arrival (delicious by the way)! It was no problem to store our bags at the reception before checking in and after having checked out. It’s a great hotel, for a weekend trip (great location & comfortable beds!). And finally a hotel with big towels and not only hand towels! Big plus 😉
Beds comfy, room cleaned every day and coffee, tea etc restocked.
