Why use LPDBIV as an abbreviation?

During our review, you might sometimes see us refer to La Porta D’Oriente B&B in Venice (32 characters long, including blanks) as LPDBIV (6 characters long) for the following 3 reasons:

  1. We created the acronym by taking the first letter of every word (which was very groundbreaking, we know)
  2. We’re lazy and LPDBIV is simpler and easier for reviewing purposes
  3. We save 26 characters every time we do this

So, just a heads up that we’ll be using this abbreviation sometimes, so you’re not left scratching your head and wondering what the heck we’re talking about whenever we refer to LPDBIV throughout the remainder of this review.

Also, we’ll sometimes use LPDBIV41987 which is a combination of the abbreviation with the Travel Help Guru post id, which we sometimes use for THG tracking purposes to further differentiate abbreviations from one another.

A traditional Venetian building on a busy square very close to everything. Lovely family room with the highest ceilings ever!

The location of this B&B is fantastic only 5 minutes walk to St Marks Square. The room was large and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic. The owner Cynthia was very friendly and helpful. Some rooms have four poster beds.

The property is in in the historical center The rooms and the living room are spacious and classy The continental breakfast is delicious

Lovely B&B on one of the many canals in beautiful Venice. The room had an oriental theme, and was well done and clean, it is an old building so had plenty of character. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there is a great gondola service just at the entrance to the hotel and it is well located to get to the main areas of Venice. Breakfast was simple but tasty with great coffee.

Nice and spacious room with a comfortable memory foam mattress on the bed. The property had character and charm and was a short distance from good restaurants and bars, yet still far enough from the a Grand Canal so as to get some relief from the endless mobs arriving from cruise ships and tour buses. The staff was helpful and friendly.

The proprietor was helpful, warm and friendly. Although hard to find, a great location away from the crowds. The room had an oriental motif complete with very low bed, but was comfortable and nicely appointed with pleasing amenities. Very good wifi.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was huge and very pretty. During the hottest part of the afternoon, we would come back to rest in the cool air-conditioning and enjoy just being in such a lovely old building. The location was perfect – on a quiet square away from the tourist crowd, but easy walking distance. Great recommendations for restaurants close by. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room were appreciated.

The location is great – close To all the main sites and restaurants It’s quite a spacious room The toiletries were great Breakfast was good The staff is great – friendly and very cooperative
