Took the family room. Spacious and clean. Private bathroom and shower. 2 beds and just lots of room. Close to bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
Janos backpackers is a wonderful place to stay in Xi’an. It is very cheap compared to other places around and it is in a great location (10 minute walk to The Bell and Drum Tower.) The accommodation is simple but nice. All the staff speak really good english and are very helpful. They were really helpful in telling us how to get to Hua Shan Mountain – we got the metro from Yongningmen station to the top station Bei Kezhan, exit the tube here the station is called Xi’an Bei (north) then a 30 min high speed train to Hua Shan Bei. It is a 10 min taxi journey from the station to the mountain (be careful not to get ripped off, it should be no more than 15 rmb) Overall a lovely stay, be sure to check out The Terracotta Warriors (bus no. 914/915 from the station) the Drum Tower and The Big Goose Pagoda. There is also the largest fountain performance in Asia just outside the Pagoda the starts from 9pm every night.
The staff was excellent, the resident Dog was a sweetheart. The location near public transport and attractions like the Beilin Museum and the South gate of the ancient wall were amazing. The room decor was traditional and really cute and the view from our balcony was fabulous.

Location. We arrived passed midnight and there were staff that is on standby to receive us. Staff were helpful in helping us with our luggages.
The value for money was very very good as was the location. The lady we checked in with was very good and although the other staff members didn’t have very good English, they were always happy to help
The staff was really helpful and friendly! Even after we checked out we could come back to the hostel for taking a shower after climbing huashan.
Great location, beautiful old building and comfortable beds. Use of washing machine was great with kids and the dog was lovely. The hotel gave us the use of a floor bed (foam mat) for our son at no charge. The room and area is very quiet in the mornings.
Location & staff were great! Especially the girl at reception who speaks fluent English was a delight! Tip: the rooms upstairs are much better!
