Why use HVBIP as an abbreviation?
During our review, you might sometimes see us refer to Hotel Vecchio Borgo in Palermo (30 characters long, including blanks) as HVBIP (5 characters long) for the following 3 reasons:
- We created the acronym by taking the first letter of every word (which was very groundbreaking, we know)
- We’re lazy and HVBIP is simpler and easier for reviewing purposes
- We save 25 characters every time we do this
So, just a heads up that we’ll be using this abbreviation sometimes, so you’re not left scratching your head and wondering what the heck we’re talking about whenever we refer to HVBIP throughout the remainder of this review.
Also, we’ll sometimes use HVBIP37110 which is a combination of the abbreviation with the Travel Help Guru post id, which we sometimes use for THG tracking purposes to further differentiate abbreviations from one another.

Is Hotel Vecchio Borgo in a good location in Palermo for you?
Where you want to be located in Palermo is one of the most important questions for you to answer.
Of course, it all depends on why you’ll be in Palermo in the first place, and whether the location of HVBIP will be helpful to you or not.
For example, are you traveling to Palermo for business or pleasure? Visiting friends or family there? Simply want to soak up the sights and attractions?
It’s very simple: decide what you want to actually accomplish (what you want to see or do) in Palermo. And then decide whether Hotel Vecchio Borgo’s location is a benefit for that or not.
Does Hotel Vecchio Borgo have a pool?
An indoor pool or outdoor pool (or even super swanky rooftop pool) might or might not be important to you, depending on how you’re planning to spend your time in Palermo and who you’re traveling with.
For example, if you’re traveling by yourself on business, it might not be important at all, but if you’re traveling to Palermo with friends, family, or children, and you think you’d enjoy relaxing by the pool at HVBIP, it might be an important consideration whether there is an indoor or outdoor swimming pool, whether it’s heated or not and has a pool bar or not, and so on.

Excellent breakfast! Shower jacuzzi, classical decoration. Reception staff politeness and friendly, parking service outside of the hotel. Very near to the historic center.
We only spent a night at the hotel in Palermo. The staff was very friendly and helpful whereas the facilities were very clean. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is a safe place to stay and I liked the fact that during the night the visitors have to ring the bell before the receptionist opens the door. The old city of Palermo is close enough and there are a lot of shops for shopping nearby.
Breakfast is ok , but the personeel was very kind and hulp full., but the area is not attractive.
Efficient staff. Large pleasant room. Reserved street parking outside
