Authentic fading grandeur and fantastic helpful staff who sorted any issues immediately. Help with booking tickets, taxis, directions and excursions. Beautiful hotel if you can get to see it all! Ask for a tour! Very peaceful despite the central hutong location. Clean rooms but a bit tatty in places which adds to the charm.
Kent, our host took great care of us and arranged our driver to the great wall and the forbidden city and our trip back to the airport. The property was very authentic with a beautiful courtyard, koi pond and fabulous furnishings. The room was spacious and quiet. It could use some fresh paint and upholstery, but they are in the process of refurbishing. Overall a great experience for our first time to China.
Our room was a pleasant surprise. It was quite spacious, with a king bed, sitting room and minibar. The Hutong district was terrific to wander around, and had a great atmosphere at night. This was quite a magnificent and ornate building however tired, peeling and in need of some care.
This hotel is just beautiful. The location was fantastic. The staff was great and the building is just like time-Travel to 300 years ago. We just loved it.

The location was excellent for both exploring local Hutongs and for the easy public transport routes in to the old part of the city. A good location for hitting the main tourist spots.
Their courtyard was nice and quiet. The rooms are large and the beds were comfortable.
I really enjoyed my recent stay here. This boutique hotel is in an excellent, quiet location in one of the Hutongs, and close to several forms of public transport, good restaurants and bars. The old style ambience, which combines traditional Chinese "courtyard" architecture with modern facilities in the rooms is relaxing and enjoyable. The staff, many of whom speak excellent English, were most friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good value at 48RMB.
Loved the traditional courtyard house environment and the charming South Luogo Lane/Hutong neighborhood location. Beautiful buildings and courtyard. Room décor is good. Easy walk to the Nan Luogo Xiang subway station.
Friendly staff. Felt like home. Truly enjoyed soaking in the river in the back of the hotel.
