Externally and in public areas the property was what you would expect from a Marriott but the rooms were in need of a refurb. And don’t be fooled by ‘a sea view room’. This is what we paid for but the sea could only be seen at a side angle.

Everything is on the doorstep of the hotel. Brilliant location. Modern and clean entrance and reception to the hotel.

The hotel was easy to find. Upon our arrival the staff was quite helpful and welcoming.

It was an amazing holiday for us! Everything was excellent. When we arrived we had a very nice surprise, so we were lucky enough to receive a room with a sew view which was extraordinary. The hotel is very well located, near to the beaches, to public transportation, to taxis, to restaurants etc. The hotel is also very close to the old town as well as Negresco Hotel. For breakfast we had a variety of choices and everything was nice and fresh. Last, we were pleasantly surprised by the Hotel’s restaurant located on the roof, offering a beautiful view of the sea, the old town and Promenade des Anglais.

The whole experience was wonderful. Nice is vibrant and there s much to do there and in surrounding areas. Hotel was excellent, staff friendly and helpful and we would certainly stay again.

The best thing about the Excelsior in Nice was the gorgeous duty manager Marine. She was so warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful! The charming boutique hotel was located in a convenient location a very short walk from the station. We had a car so the hotel organised a parking space for 18 euros a day at a parking station close by. The main shopping street is about 5 minutes away and the main beach is located about a 10-15 minute walk away. The hotel provides a lovely breakfast with a good selection of fruits, yogurt, cheeses, cold meats, bacon, sausages and eggs……..was a great way to start the day! Another great benefit of the hotel was the proximity to a very authentic French restaurant called The Voyageur Nissart. (3 lovely courses for 18 euros)……delicious food and definitely worth a visit or 2! Our family had a very pleasant time at the Excelsior and would definitely stay at the hotel again!

Staff was amazing and helpful. The room with the toilet and the one with the sink and shower were very small. Hard to close the door when on the toilet. But the room was tastefully decorated and comfortable.

Excellent breakfast, fresh squeezed orange juice, espresso, good variety.

Staff were polite and spoke great English. Held our bags on check out day in a secure luggage room so we could explore before a late evening flight. Lovely clean room with balcony over courtyard was perfect. Great breakfast selection.

Very friendly and provided free upgrade for our anniversary and excellent location for arrival and departures from Nice train station.

Clean, design, near the railway station, not far from the center of city.

After an awful night staying in their Classic Double Room, we payed an extra fee for the second and third night, to changed our room to the Superior Double Room, and all our issues were resolved. The location is great, very close to the train station and walk able to the beach. The staff were lovely and very helpful. They provide cold water and some lollies in the afternoon at the reception.

Super staff comfortable bed secure parking good food

The reception staff were very friendly, helpful and quick to respond to requests. On my first night, following lengthy delays at the airport, the ‘party’ my ‘neighbours’ decided to throw at 2am was thankfully quickly dealt with after a call to reception.

Swimming pool is a great plus for this hotel. However it could do with a freshen up.

The manager, Manuella, was absolutely delightful and helpful. It is a family-run, very private establishment and the room pleasant with opening windows and a tiny balcony, very good bed and French provincial theme. We also loved the all-marble bathroom. The location is outstanding being in one of the city’s elite shopping streets with the park/gardens and Old Town one end, and a plethora of restaurants and cafes to choose from at the other end. Taxi rank around the corner, the Promenade one block away. This little hotel puts you right in the thick of things.

The proximity to the bay, but not in the busiest part of Nice. There is a Carrefour supermarket nearby, a pharmacy, boulangerie and banks. The bus is at the door.

Definetly the location. Bus line outside our door and staff were very helpful.

Clean apartment, very comfortable bed, kitchen well-equipped, refurbished bathroom and very well maintained, location of the hotel is close to center of the city and the airport, proximity to the bus stop, nice and helpful hotel service.

friendly receptionists,happy to answer every question. appartment has everything you need. bed very comfy. had a problem with roller blind which was fixed promptly as soon as reported. balcony with sea view a must but be aware it is a very busy main road you are above so can be noisy the lower down you are. buses run frequently to old town which is quite a walk and last one back around 9 pm. This is the largest appt we have every stayed in and handy to have cooking facilities for at least breakfast.Carrfour supermarket 5 mins walk behind appt.

Only thing is- we didn’t know we were responsible for the cleaning of our apartment. That was a bummer. Room cleaning service was extra!!!

Staff tried to solve all questions in timely and accurate manner

Staff, very open and friendly, apartments are good size and clean.

Handy location to the airport for a weekend break but a little bit far walking from the centre but that said, lots of buses available for 1.50 euro. Accommodation is great for self catering and also near to restaurants. Great roof top area for sun bathing and right across the road from a beach (rocky). You can get the 200 bus to Cannes from right outside the door and also get the 1 bus from the centre to the Monaco.

Staff were excellent. Graziella was the perfect hostess couldn’t do enough for us .

Apart Hotel Ajoupa is located in one of the nicest location in Nice. The Apartments are very nicely equipped for a long stay. The rooms are neat, cozy and well-laid. I found the balcony view very beautiful. The whole area around this place is so full of life and fun, with amazing eateries and beautiful square. The Staff speaks English, and is quite nice and helpful. The public transport tram is just 100 meters from the place. I would definitely recommend a stay.

Like on first day no water at all in apartment but they had someone check it out and it was a problem in the apartment block and resolved quickly. Would certainly return as is was only 2 minutes to square and promenade and also convenient for Airport Shuttle and buses to Cannes and Monaco

Hotel staff and facilities where excellent, breakfast was especially good

Large room, clean, very friendly staff (Irina & Lisa), quite central.

Super location. Easy reach to the train station, Main Street, old town, sea front etc. Lovely garden and large lobby area which is great to enjoy on your return from a day trip/night out, nice bar. Breakfast was plentiful, the hotel was busy but the staff worked hard to keep on top of cleaning tables, refilling and generally looking after guests. Room was a good size and beds were comfortable. TIP – save money by taking a regular service bus rather than the ‘airport express’ if you walk out on to the promenade des Anglais you can get 23/52 and some others (google this) and a ticket costs €1:50. Ticket on the airport bus is €6. Even better, if you’re up for it you can walk into the centre of Nice which we always do-takes approximately 45min to one hour depending on destination.

The location and the friendliness of the management and staff.

We liked the location a lot. It was in the centre of a busy main street with endless restaurants, food options, gelato, crepes and shops.

The hotel had good Wifi but it didn’t work late at night.
