The owners of this property are possibly the nicest people I have ever met. They were more than accommodating and helped us get around Kyoto. We even shared a meal and were able to get a feel for what real life in Kyoto is like. Highly recommended!

Chie was wonderful in helping us get to the property, which is in a very quiet residential part of Kyoto, about a 15 minute walk from the Imperial Palace Gardens – she sent a text in Japanese which we showed to the taxi driver. It was about a 20 minute ride from the train station. She was very friendly and gave us a lot of useful information about what to see and do. The accommodation was really comfortable and very clean and it was a great alternative to a hotel – good for travelling with kids.

The host (Chie) was very friendly and welcoming. The property was also very cozy.

Chie was super friendly and helpful – met us on arrival with the keys and gave us lots of useful information on how to get to the house from KIX airport – Haruka train to Kyoto then subway for a few stops and a 10/15 minute walk. Chie gave us a bus map on arrival which was really useful, the buses follow a very logical system and you just pay when you get off (most were a flat rate of 230 yen, pay with cash or an ICOCA card or various other cards). The house was in a great location – incredibly quiet at night but with really easy access to everything in Kyoto – either using buses, subway, tram or walking. There was a single electric hob, small microwave, kettle and toaster in the kitchen. Chie had very kindly left a few bits in the fridge for us on arrival and gave our children some nice gifts at the end of our 4 night stay. Would definitely recommend.

Tatami floors, comfortable futons, the quiet neighbourhood and the restaurant next door. Very helpful and friendly host.

This is as close one gets to experience the Japanese everyday life, even though we don’t know the neighbors or take part in the working day.

The house is clean and comfortable . Location is good, very convenient , close to all famous attraction.

The place was in a quiet location. Easily accessed by Train & bus or Train and 15 min walk. Very cute place, bedding was very comfy as well and friendly owner.

The owners were very nice and made sure we had everything we needed and gave us good sightseeing tips, even showing us the bus stops.

The room was located in a very good area of Zakopane.

Japanese style, a big supermarket to 24:00, a small one 24h near, have kitchen to cook.

i like it that it is japanese style and there is a lounge, you can cook, you can watch tv, you can wash dishes. it is clean and quiet..

We loved the bikes! Also, the inn felt very private, like we were the only ones there, and it was very peaceful for sleeping at night with our window open.

Nice and cosy interior. Bed was very comfortable. Nice lounge area in the room. The location is a bit out of the city center.

The place was traditional and the onsen is great too. Love the free Popsicles and the Japanese style breakfast.

誕生日と伝えていたら、お菓子のプレゼントを頂けた。とても嬉しかった。二条城にも近く、周りにもオシャレなカフェがあったので楽しかった。

ホテル内は部屋、バスルーム、トイレ全て清潔で良かったです。私は友人2人と共に3人でFactoryという名前のお部屋へ宿泊しました。ロフトのような二階式のベッドルームや、ホテル内の和風の中庭など非日常感が味わえてとても楽しめました。それと、お風呂場も洗い場と浴槽が別の一般的なバスルームでしたので使いやすく、良かったです。扉が薄いかな、と感じましたが私達の他に一組宿泊しているご家族がいらっしゃったそうですが、他のお部屋の話し声が聞こえることはほとんどありませんでした。

チェックインの時間を早めてもらったり最終日、荷物の預かりもしてくれたりと快く要望に応えてくれてスタッフさんが感じ良かったです。

The hotel was totally new! Also, getting there was quite simple and convenient, as it is close to Shijo Omyia station, from where Kyoto Station can be reached in about 20-30min. The breakfast was also good. The room rates were really low when we booked it, maybe because of the hotel being new, so it was a great choice! Anyway, if you want a well located hotel with a simple but sufficient breakfast at a reasonable price, this is the place.

Pretty spacious rooms (for Japan), clean and nice. Good location, provides quite a good connection by bus to most of the tourist attractions. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money.

This hotel is about as new as you are likely to get. I stayed in September and the hotel had only opened for business in July. Needless to say it was spotlessly clean, and the staff were more than helpful. Attractions in Kyoto are a little spread out, so you’re never close to more than one thing, but the location of this hotel was pretty handy being close to Omiya station, from where it was only a few stops (via a change) to central Kyoto.

地点在大宫站附近，楼下多家便利店，岚电站也在附近，去岚山和京都其他景点都超级方便，早餐不错，还提供免费的洗衣和烘干。

位置在在京都最繁华的四条街上，阪急大宫站4号出口对面就是。房间干净，设备一流，。早餐特别棒，有至少二三十种菜色可供选择。以后去京都还会优先考虑入住。

広くないけど、機能的な配置、クローゼットも十分な大きさ。最近、京都のホテルではWiFiが繋がらない傾向にあると思うが、ここは良かった。

2つの駅から徒歩5分以内で、周りはバス停も多く、とても便利な場所です。シーズンオフでまだ新しいホテルのせいか泊まり客も少なく、近隣のホテルに比べて外国人客もあまり見かけず、館内はとても静かでした。フロントには使い切りの基礎化粧品が4種類置いてあり、自由にもらうことができます。部屋は狭いですが、清潔で掃除も行き届いていました。朝食バイキングは500円なので全然期待していなかったのですが、品数が多くお腹いっぱいいただきました。一言で言うと、必要最低限の物はすべて揃っているホテルです。

This property is of a high standard. They have really thought about guests needs with loads of storage, lighting and sockets, a really good shower and a large comfortable bed. This is a hotel quality room and exceptionally clean. It is close to the town centre so you can get to everything on foot. If you’ve come in the car there is public parking 5 mins from the apartment, 4 Kuna per hour (free 10pm till 8am) so bring coins with you. Thank you Ivan, you are a great host and have a lovely property.

Perfect location, very quite, beautiful rooms and very nice staff! For sure one of the best place in Palomino!

Hotel just across the Academia Bridge with the best view overlooking the Grand Canal, it is just magical! The outside and inside is lit with many candles with wonderful ambience, it is a real palazzo with grand drawing room and salon. The grand drawing room is set as a fine dining restaurant at night, it has the most romantic ambience with great food! Music is tastefully jazz! Room size is good and bed is comfortable with good back support.

The breakfast was really good and parking was free.

Best value for your money that you will ever find in a large city like Berlin. Great location in Friedrichshain where we wanted to be. The room was quite big for Japan standard and the staff of the hotel are really welcoming.

Location is good. Th breakfast is good, but a little on the expensive side if you are not a big eater. The staff are very friendly and speak very good English. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice.

Loved the little extras like communal cappuccino machine, a welcome drink each night, free laundry facilities etc and the restaurant was really good too.

Convenient location. The room is clean and comfortable.

Great location 5 minutes walk from Kyoto train station. A little hard to find at first, our taxi driver failed to find it (it shares a building with the Drivers Licence Renewal Centre) – and reception is hidden away behind doors. Location is central to all transport including buses. Good places to eat surrounding, including a Starbucks for your daily coffee fix. Room was a good size, and bathroom included a shower room. Plenty of space for luggage storage. We had a late train back to Tokyo, and the hotel were happy to hold on to our luggage until the afternoon even though we had checked out earlier.

Big room for Japan, comfortable bed, there was a computer with internet connection in the room. It’s located in the quite place.

It’s a comfortable little apartment and members of the stuff are really nice and helpful, especially Yukima. It’s close to buses and a big supermarket. We loved staying there.

Pros: 1. The location is good: within a 10 minute walk from THREE different train lines, and about a 6 minute easy bus ride to Kyoto Station. The area is easy to navigate. There is food and lots of handy marts in the area. 2. The size. Most Japanese hotels are TINY. We had a lot of space in this one. 3. Washing Machine + Soap is provided in each room! Whattttt! This was so great. It was about 1 million degrees when we visited Japan for 8 days, so it was really nice to be able to do our laundry in Kyoto. 4. Price- You get A LOT of value for the price! 5. Cleanliness- This place was very tidy and did NOT smell like cigarettes- which was my experience all over Japan- even in rooms that claim to be "non-smoking". 6. The bed- Very soft! Not traditional Asian style of a very firm mattress.

The whole place was very clean and comfy with a good size and good interior equipment. The design is a good mix between Japanese and western style, which was very nice. We went around with bikes (rentable there) and for that it is a good, central location. Also a big plus, the staff spoke English really well which made check in and asking for directions very easy.

Location and views were excellent. Office staff very helpful but only available up to 9pm. Our flight was delayed and we emailed ahead to let them know we would arrive after 9pm. Worked very easily but had to wait until following morning for local info.

Yukiko (staff) was super friendly, and took a couple of us out for sukiyaki. Jiro (the most important staff member, also a dog) was cute and playful. People coming in and out gave the place a family vibe and after a day I thought I might skip a deadline and stay longer (another guest skipped a flight to stay another night!). Old Kyoto building was interesting and it had modern bathrooms/showers, and a massage chair. BREAKFAST was huge and had a lot of variety. The place also has party nights, tea ceremonies and the owner will ferry you to a public bath at no charge. There is good reason this place is so highly rated. If anyone badmouths it, it is probably just to try to keep it to themselves.

One of the best hostels we’ve been at! Amazing staff, clean, and every Friday there’s dinner with all the guests. Super fun, would stay there again!

Everything! The best hostel I’ve stayed in. Clean, excellent location, really friendly staff, lovely dog and the best aspect was the communal atmosphere where staff and guests hang out together.

The stuff is great, the facilities are good, great breakfast and it is a good place to meet other people. On friday night we made a barbecue and a little party and it was great: a lot of people and a lot of food (also free beer) all of this free of charge.

I really like the staff there. They are so helpful, kind and nice. I love the breakfast there and free public bath. They were just made my trip. I have already recommend a friend to stay in October. Hope she will enjoy to stay.

Great team, very helpful. The traditional family house is in a quiet street, . Breakfast is served with various specialties, fresh fruits, cakes, etc.. Easy to reach from subway and many buses to access.

The staff were very welcoming and warm, they were helpful with any questions/requests and they were always willing to help. The hostel is very clean and it has the best massage chair! There is also a very friendly doggo, Yuro, who made us feel even more welcome

We had a very nice stay in this Japanese house. We had a big room for our family. Very friendly people, very very good breakfast! The party on friday was super, love the game catch the noodles, the food was great en we had a lot of fun with all the people. Saturday we eat in the house and they made a lovely diner, never ate so good in Japan for that price and in general 😃 My daughters were in love with Jiro! This is for sure the place to stay in Kyoto!

Very nice hotel at the edge of the city of Kyoto. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable!

Very nice Hotel, luckily I had a huge room with Tatami-mats and three big beds and a huge window. If you want to go to central Kyoto: They offer regular free transport to Kyoto Station/back to Hotel in the morning and afternoon.

Hotel staff very kind and helpful, location is ok, I have chosen it considering the position and the fact that they have parking on site, as travelling by car. Rooms are so so…

The beds were comfy and the view of the temple was lovely.

Breakfast was very good in my opinion and had plenty of options to choose from

Nice room. Nice location (very near Higashi-Honganji, underground walk way, and taxi stop).

Super near to the Kyoto station (here you can find a lot of eating and shopping options) Personal was nice and they have umbrellas for the guests (thing that comes very handy in japan). The room was confortable and there are enough bathrooms for all the guests. The common room is nice and a good place to rest.

5 mins walk from Kyoto Station, but if you are using Hankyu Line, like i did, please plan properly, as this hotel is far from Hankyu line’s train station.

This is a fantastic hostel, very homely! And the staff were outstanding.. they made my visit one to remember. Always happy to help and assist me with any questions or queries. The location is perfect!

Kyoto Hana Hostel very near to the Kyoto Station. Only need 7-10 mins walk. We booked for room with private bath. The bathroom uses a bathtub with hot water, so you can relax after a tired day. We sleep use futon, comfort, the linen was clean and we can sleep well:) Very near to convenience stores and near to Sukiya restaurant (only need 3 mins walk!). The staffs very helpful and friendly, easy to communicate with them (they speak English well).

The duvet was great, the bottom bunk I stayed in was cozy (had a ‘fort’ kinda feeling with the curtain closed!) and I was warm. Perfect for my overnight. I liked that the bathrooms were private stalls (like a closet) and it’s gender neutral..the showers seemed to be the same but I didn’t use it during my stay. I wish there had been items like toothpaste/shampoo/etc…toiletries are not available (unless you ask the front desk? I never tried tbh) so bring your own toothpaste etc. I would return again.

They keep the luggage after checkout without fees.

Great hostel – we had a private room & bathroom, everything was clean and suited exactly what we needed. We used bikes from the hostel – highly recommended. Excellent location, close to the train station and close to great restaurants.

We arrived beyond the check-in time but they gave us info to get in and flexibility to check out the next day. We wanted to try sleeping on tatami and it was an interesting experience. Hallway was super narrow you can’t turn wearing a bag without knocking into something – this was interesting to me. They allow for luggage storage.

The coffee shop next to reception is very good Rooms are very reasonable, you will need the air con on in summer

Great gem…amazing staff who went through everything to make us feel at home…very spacious…beautiful garden…attentive and informative and respectful staff…considerate…clean facilities..the staff dropped us to the next hotel because it was raining and my wife was pregnant..amazing…they even took pictures of us at the garden and waiting for perfect time to set it up…they also brought us a bag with the food that we forgot in the fridge and even managed to get us a stamp for our letter and even sent it… Great home cooked meal …gives experience that many ryokans don’t of living in a Japanese house…and yeah you’re the only guests so you really feel home…

everything is perfect, I think pervious review had already made it pretty clear, but it still surprise me when i stayed in Jeugiya. When we left, it was rainy, the host even gave us a umbrella (we don’t have one), it was really nice and sweet

Very friendly owners. They did everything they could do to make us comfortable. You can order a traditional Japanese breakfast and that is really delicious. I would recomend you to do so at least one morning. The house is beautiful. There are 2 toilets (one indoor and one outdoor) and an indoor bathroom. You sleep on the ground floor. There are 2 (by sliding doors separated) rooms where you can sleep. The garden is beautifull too.

I feel like home! They were so nice and helpful. The father of the house even bring us to see the fire flies in the evening and walk us to a local restaurant (even negotiate with the owner of late dinner)

We spent two wonderful days in the marvellous setting of this beautiful Ryokan, assisted by a most gracious and pleasant family in an unobtrusive, elegant and refined way. We would love to return anytime.

Actually I don’t understand why they got 9.9 rate. It should be a 10! This is the best stay I have ever had. It’s even better than any 5-star hotel. It gave you a warm-welcomed and home-like feeling. The host provided a lot of information and helped to book local restaurants. The location was great. You can feel the local Kyoto neighborhood. You only need to take a few walks to shopping and transportation area and it’s also very close to many famous spots, while it’s really quiet during the night. The breakfast was fabulous. You can taste the authentic Kyoto style cuisine. There’s interaction between the host and the tenant. Staying here would bring you a life-time memory.

We really enjoyed the stay in Jeugiya and the experience couldn’t be better. The garden, the breakfast and of course, every member of the family are JUST INCREDIBLE. REALLY recommend!

Jeugiya is an exceptional place and it is managed by exceptional people. Truly a humbling experience.
