We did not realise that their was a shuttle bus to the ski resort. This would have been great for us, as the walk from the car park to the ski area is a considerable distance if you do not get there early.

I love Lake Louise, it is beautiful!
I love Lake Louise, it is beautiful! The village has a lot to offer any level tourist/traveler. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from. The prices are quite high and really do need to be reduced in the tourist shops. It has world class skiing and unmatched natural beauty.

Amazing place to visit even in Winter (late Nov), all the christmas decorations were up, we still walked 1/2 way around the lake. Fairmont Chateu upgraded us to top floor lake view room, we watched the sun come up over Lake Louise....that was very special. Not much else to do in Lake Louise at winter if you don't ski. Lake Louise Village is nothing. Bow Valley Parkway is just beautiful. Do Johnston Canyon but definitely need cleats if there is snow on the ground as the paths become very slippery. Try get there at 10am or before as less people. By lunch time it is very busy.

The views are awesome so draws hordes of people.
The views are awesome so draws hordes of people. Found it to be extremely crowded. Must travel by bus to Lake Morraine and if you drive to Lake Louise, expect to pay $20 for parking. Free after 7:00 PM.

Give in and book the shuttle bus at least a few days ahead.
Give in and book the shuttle bus at least a few days ahead. Either that or plan on driving up to the lake before 8am - probably before 7am in July or August - if you hope to be able to park at the lake. Actually, book the shuttle bus anyway, even if you're going to try and park.
Really bad news is that there is a lack of publicly accessible facilities at the lake. Given how much the Chateau Lake Louise has been allowed to expand over the years, there really should be publicly accessible restaurants.
As for the scenery, well it is still a pretty place but with the glaciers almost gone it doesn't compare to what it was even 30 years ago. There are more beautiful places to go in Canada.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. Just go there, stay as long as you can, it just breathtaking. Recommended activities:
- lake Agnes tea house hike
- canoeing on lake Louise
- sun rise shuttle to moraine lake
- dinner at Louiza
- lake Louise resort gondola sightseeing ride
- drinks after late evening/dark at the patio bar
The staff were friendly and did their best to resolve our concerns. After a difficult check-in, they were quick to relocate us to a new room. After a very trying check-in and finally getting settled near mid-nite - the staff were open and friendly throughout the whole process. We were very pleased that the hotel gave our family a delicious free breakfast the next morning.
It is important to note that we were guests of the Lake Louise Inn several years before, and had a lovely and uneventful stay.
Thanks for upgrading our room and the room was exceeding our expectation. It is clean and roomy. Our group had 6 people and 1.5 bathrooms was fine with us. There were 4 restaurants in the hotel and had different foods for everyone. There was also a shopping mall within the walking distance from the hotel. We will definitely go back to Lake Louis Inn if we visit Lake Louis again or recommend Lake Louis Inn to our friends.
The breakfast was good and with lots of options. Nevertheless, when it was a little busier, they ran out of everything very soon (whether dishes, cups or hot food).
It is one of the cheaper options in Lake Louise town. Staying in that town makes travel times to the lakes a lot shorter, but since you need to drive to P&R at the Ski Resort anyway, you might consider sleeping elsewhere (but Banff NP is pricey anyway).
I awarded the hotel an 8 due to the beautiful (paid extra for) view from our room! Close proximity to lovely easy day hikes. After mentioning to management our disappointing meal, he did comp (much to our surprise) dinner for us the following night in a different restaurant. Sadly though another snafu as my husband ordered a pasta dish with shrimp & the entree was served without the shrimp!
The hotel is set in a beautiful location with great access to the village. It is also easy to walk to Lake Louise from the Prost hotel (4km up hill).
The hotel feels very comfortable and the staff and great.
The rooms are big and the beds are really comfy. I also like that they all have balcony’s.
The post pub is also great - good food and selection of beverages.
Nice location near the creek with easy access to Lake Louise and all the hiking in the area. Cabins were well-stocked. The kitchen was small, but had everything we needed. Wood burning stove was nice for cool mornings and fire pits by the creek were great for s’mores in the evening.
Great place to stay to see a unique treasure -Moraine Lake - without all the daytime crowds around. Nice cabins with wood fires and lovely views. The food was first class and although the accomodation is expensive, dinner was reasonably priced and a cooked breakfast is included.
Very cozy and rustic place. Perfect location for our road trip to Jasper. I liked how the rooms were small cabins near the main cabin with the fireplace and the kitchen. The toilets were outside but they were super clean. Bring a head flashlight for nighttime.
A great location on the way to Lake Louise. We never drove to the Lake, we just walked the twenty minutes. The Cabins were very comfortable. The kitchen was so nice we cooked several meals in the cabin and then ate on our deck.
Overall very beautiful fairy tale like place, the area is just amazing: the creek, mountains around, the cabins exterior. Inside the cabins are also really nice with cozy fireplace and a lot of free firewood
Location was super convenient to get to Lake Louise without having to take shuttle or find parking and the property had a lot of historic charm. The breakfast spread was pretty good (when it was stocked).
Comfortable and quiet room, nice living room and good facilities (kitchen, lockers, laundry).
Useful information about the local bus to lake Louise (price: CAD 2), which stops just in front of the hostel.
The location and access to Lake Louise is the clear differentiating factor. Friendly and helpful staff too, and we enjoyed the spa. The Guides Pantry was also a good cheaper way for less formal meals.
Location is very good that is only 4 minites by drive to Lake Louise. And they also provide private shattle reservation to Lake Moraine! Staff in this hotel are very kind and friendly.
Staying at the Post Hotel is immersing yourself in luxury. It's an experience more than a stay and it brings back memories of winter holidays in Austria. Wonderful!
Location was obviously fantastic and the main reason why we booked the hotel. Right on Lake Louise and very close for an early morning start to Moraine Lake.
