I love how close the place is to nature, beach is amazing , the rustic cabanas are beautiful .The only thing I didn’t like it were the locals trying to sell their products in a way that can be annoying.

The only way to get from the arrival area to your hotel is to walk along the beach with your luggage or by boat. When the seas are ruff and there are no boats you must carry your luggage through the sand and water. Depending where your hotel is, that could be a mile. There is one tiny bodega on the beach to buy soda and beer and not much else. It’s best for a short stay.

Horrible place, instead of the sea breeze you'll enjoy exhaust from the dozens of motorboats and scooters cruising everywhere without any rules. They make a horrible noise all over the day, combined with loud music from each bar it caused a headache. Food and drinks are extremely expensive, we got poisoned by some food there being sick for 3 days.
Trash is everywhere behind the beach line.

Before 11 am and after 5 pm, it is beautiful.
Before 11 am and after 5 pm, it is beautiful. Between those hours, however, there are an overwhelming number of visitors and vendors. The water is full of so many people offering rides on jetskis, banana boats, tour boats, etc, that rather than smell the ocean air you smell gas. If you want peace and quiet you need to trek about 2 kms to the peaceful section of Playa Blanca.

Baru was a big surprise for us in all the right ways.
Baru was a big surprise for us in all the right ways.
Family of 3 with a 10 year old, stayed 6 days, 2 different hotels.
Beautiful white sandy beaches, turquoise colored waters and fresh sea food ( learn your prices and always check before accepting anything).
The family time spent there is unforgettable. The people are kind and respectful. The island is safe and after 4pm starts to calm down and at 7-8 pm it's quiet and peaceful.
Most people spent a day and leave, but i recommend you stay and do the activities. We did snorkeling and raccon as well as the Plancton (DO NOT MISS IT! ).

Baru is not yet ready for international travelers.
Baru is not yet ready for international travelers. The harassment from the local vendors borders on scary (from the parking lot attendants to the beach vendors). The beach is not clean to the standards of other Caribbean beaches (bottle caps, dead fish etc.)
Boat and jetski traffic are not controlled, and drive too close to the shore, so the smell of fuel is constantly in the air.
If you have been to a top-quality beach anywhere in the world, you will be disappointed by Baru. I hope they make improvements in the coming years.
The only thing we liked was the ocean was really close to us, there was no power light and water for restrooms, and Natalia was very rude and she blocked us from whatsapp, I spend one night but it was hell because there was no electricity for the fans, and this island is extremely hot, the power plant was out of gas and I think they should be prepare with extra gas, to take care of their costumers. They only good thing was Jose the groundskeeper, very nice person.
The hotel is beautiful. The food offer is excellent and most of the staff is quite friendly. They offer lots of goodies like free SPF 70 sunblock in the beach and you feel like you can just relax and count on the staff to treat you and cater for all your needs. During dinner, the chef Hugo accommodated for my needs and brought me a nice piece of salmon.
All the staff from the transportation services and activities was super nice and charismatic.
This is one of the best properties on the island, because you're literally a step away from the water. The waters are crystal blue, and the views a once in a lifetime experience. You also get to know the other guests in the house because everyone is sharing the same common space.
Keep in mind every property on the island is very rustic, and you probably won't have much internet access - but this was a welcome break for me.
The hotel is stunning and the resort is stunning with friendly staff. Unfortunately our room 66 on the private island was across from cholon the party island. They started blasting music at 5:00 am and went all day until 4. Not the vibe we wanted for our honeymoon. All other rooms lower than 60 should be ok for noise but just be warned about rooms 60-66!
This was a perfect choice on Baru. Really chilled vibe, not pretentious at all. Hammocks, canoes and right on the beach. The hut was simple but had everything you needed showers, plugs, balcony, comfy bed. Also we highly recommend eating there as Marco is an amazing chef and food is reasonably priced. All in all was a very refreshing stay
Rafael and Sol we’re just wonderful. Tjhe proximity to the beach and ocean were great. The staff was so helpful. They helped us arrange transportation from the airport, including a van and taxi boat, as well as boat transportation the next day to enjoy the islands and go to our next hotel destination. So nice!
Beautiful hotel at the best beach spot. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable . The staff was very friendly and helped us out a lot. The breakfast was delicious and the food we tried at dinner as well! Everything was fresh and really well cooked! We totally would recommend others to stay here!
The hotel is right on the beach, so the views are beautiful. The water is blue turquoise. The staff is cleaning the sand all the time. The food and fruit juices are very good. But the best was the staff (Freddy, Ronaldo, Agustin…) as they go out of their way to serve and please you.
Top location, out of the most common and crowded fancy places in Baru. Quiet and relaxing. Swimming pool was really nice. Restaurant delicious. Day-trips to Rosario islands well organized from Casa Cordoba, really worthy. A place to recharge yourself.
Breakfast was traditional Colombian fare with coffee and served to us at the table outside our room on the balcony overlooking to blue-green Caribbean ocean and all it's morning activities! Best morning breakfast view ever!
The hotel is small but in a great location, and the staff was wonderful. They made us feel welcome, also, the food was good. Johan, the manager, was very helpful! Great place to get tours to discover the multiple islands.
A different yet amazing alternative to enjoy Cartagena. This isolated place is the perfect mix between nature, beaches and calm. Olga, really makes everything to give their guests a perfect time. Fully recommend.
Staff is very solicitous and careful to details. Everything was extremely clean: restaurant, beach, rooms.
They helped us to arrange ground transportation from/to Cartagena city. Easy check-in/out.
Location is very good, but the best part about this hotel was staff. People working there are just amazing. In overall it is a perfect getaway for anyone who's looking for wild, but comfy getaway.
Nothing… Poor up keep of the facility.
I had to book another hotel for my wife and daughter
The bathroom was horrible and the smell
The flys all over the place wat not to my living standers
The most beautiful white sand sunset beach front hotel resort. So peaceful and relaxing. Not at all crowded. The food was excellent and drinks were mostly great.
The hotel and pool area were stunning. I loved the shower, it’s nice to have a small beach that you can access and the food portions were lovely, and huge!
Peaceful environment, private beach, delicious food, wonderful and friendly staff. Everything was exceptional and we truly loved our stay at the hotel.
