What I did not like was the fact that every night "poor" people would empty out of the official garbage containers in downtown Armenia throwing the contents on the square where the local business is operating. It is true however that the squares and streets are cleaned daily meticulously .

A fantastic place near Armenia There is one huge reason to go to Armenia, the Quindio Botanical Gardens four kilometres from town. They are the best botanical gardens I have been to since Kandy in Sri Lanka 42 years ago. They are big with a fabulous butterfly house. You have to take a guided tour, but it last nearly 3 hours and my guide was fantastic. Maybe the best thing I have seen in Colombia in 7 weeks

The scenery it’s amazing! Mountains are cover in agricultural products as coffee, bananas, pineapple, avocado trees. The local food it’s delicious and the people it’s very friendly. Many attractions and places to see for a short drive, as finca Recuca, Salento and Valle del Cócora, Parque del café, Balsaje río la vieja.

I felt in the Parque Cafe I could have been in any theme park in Europe or USA. Eat in the town centre in Salento. It’s a restaurant with a coffee sister company
