Perfect position, Gion and Higashiyama just out of the door. Bus and subway very close. Staff polite and good english, very helpfull. Just the place i needed to sightseen kyoto in few days. For lonely travellers common area is very social in the night, book, beer, talk with staff.
Very cozy and very friendly staff. And can see wonderful city view. Near sunway and bus stop. I wish i can go there again.
The books make this place enchanting! It also has beautiful views of the Kamo River (Kamogawa) and Gion. It is an excellent place to stay as it is close to restaurants, shops, and popular temples. The staff are also kind and helpful. I recommend this hotel for people travelling alone as there are friendly guests and a vast array of books to enjoy.
The concept is great – sleeping in a bookshelf, having couches all around it. I even found one of my favorite books in Japanese. I had still a lot of booking to do so I didn’t get to read much, but it certainly had a nice vibe. The staff distributed reading lights at night and you could stay up with your books as long as you wanted and snuggle into a blanket. The staff was very nice and helpful. Excellent location!
Good size pods to sleep in. Great views from the windows over Kyoto. Ear plugs provided as music is played late but it’s chilled music. Clean toilets and showers. Friendly staff. Great location. Wide selection of English books.

The staffs are very nice. Even in the 5:00 morning, they still smile to you and reserve a cab for you. I had a wonderful experience there.

Unique concept and vibe. Worth staying a night or two. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is really close to the downtown area, subway, and walking distance to a few temples nearby.
