Himalaya Phoenix hostel was great! The staff (especially EJ) were extremely helpful and even helped me to arrange a surprise arrival for my unsuspecting brothers. The breakfast was great and the location was close to everything (including the backpacker district) but as it was tucked away it was an extremely quiet and peaceful place. Lastly, my brother managed to leave his phone behind and the hostel organised for it to be posted to our next destination free of charge. Highly recommend!
This place was fantastic! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was good, and the staff was so amazing. They were really knowledgeable and helpful. I actually got my phone stolen and the staff was so kind and the owner even drove me to the police station and translated everything so I could file a report. They went above and beyond!
The rooms were clean and well maintained. Everything worked, AC, hot water (once we figured it out!), fridge, TV, Cable. Don’t expect many english channels but there are a few. The AC is not the strongest but by leaving it on all day, it was nicely tempered by the time we arrived. We had the family room with two double beds. It had a balcony which we did not use but gives in more light.
Simple, basic, clean accommodation in the very centre of Ho Chi Minh City.
We often read reviews which state that the staff was superfriendly, but when we arrive there is a grumpy dude behind the counter. This was not the case at the phoenix hostel, we haven’t seen a single grumpy face during our 2 night stay. The staff is helpful, the hostel is clean and had a good location. The beds are soft!

The breakfast is simple but good enough with coffee. The host is very friendly and helpful. I stay in single room, the space is large for one person.
