Location is perfect. In front of the opera, next to the main square, walking distance from all landmarks in distric 1. Rooms are spacious, beds are good. Hotel is a landmark in the city. Careful, some rooms have no view at all (windows looking at a corridor) so it’s very depressing.
It is a very pleasant stay.My 2nd stay so far since June 2017 Staff, cleanliness, buffet breakfast and location.
Although it’s an old building, it’s well maintained and can enjoy the French architecture. Also it’s very convenient to go to everywhere in the city.
Third stay at property because of location and value for money, room size is decent. Breakfast also very good inclusion.

The only place to stay in Saigon. A beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Worth the little more for the Opera House view room with balcony to watch the world go by. A real treat.

Everything is good except the staff. Dont understand english properly and make mistakes. Delay in everything as dont understand. For my billing , i told them and gave in writing a day in advance, about the invoice , just to avoid delay in check out next day early morning but i had to wait for 30 min next day morning as the guy said nothing has been told to him . So it was again the repeatition of what i did a day before. I booked a std room but found it to be with no window outside or view and like put up in a jail. So i paid 15 dollars extra per night to book a slightly bettter room. for a room of this std USD 100/- per night is quite high. In same price we will get 5 star hotels anywhere in SE asia
We stayed here for the history and ambiance of this famous old hotel and weren’t disappointed. We had an Opera view room and it was immense and full of character. The hotel was extremely clean and had the basic amenities you’d expect. This hotel could be quite amazing, but at this stage is a little basic to be called luxury. That said, the location is excellent for a quick stop in Ho Chi Minh City and its great value for money. Some staff seemed a little aloof but then they did give me a birthday gift on checking out, which was super nice!
