Wonderful location, very near subway which can get you all over the city. Also near main shopping street with good restaurants. Felt very genuine, being in the hutongs and styled as such. Very personal and relaxed environment, lovely music, water gardens and very quiet. Staff spoke amazing english (a bonus for us but not expected!) which made any questions we had easy, they even booked a trip for us, showed us around our room and gave us a couple of sweet treats throughout our stay. An email was sent in advance to ensure we had all the information we need to get there. Restaurant on site was very good, if not a bit more expensive than elsewhere. The afternoon tea was also very good. Wi-Fi was strong and stable. Would definitely stay again.
Old-fashioned atmosphere. As it was a small hotel, we had a chance to talk to other guests. Singers and dancers kept us entertained on some of the nights.
Pillows where awesome and the staff were great to talk too. Kevin is the man, very friendly and quite helpful.
The hotel is clean and has a nice feel. The courtyard is lovely. The standard room was big. The best thing was that the staff was very polite and spoke really good English.
Lu and the staff made us feel extremely welcome. They treated us like family, went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had whatever we needed!! Amazing Staff
Booked this room for my two friends -celebrating their wedding anniversary in China (first trip too). Wonderful staff and great surprise with fruit basket, rose and more to celebrate their occassion. Location is well since it is in the Hutong and walkable to metro and close to other sights. Great place
The staff were amazing, so attentive and helpful. We will definitely go back to the Red Wall Garden. The patio area was a great place to relax and the food was pretty special too

A lovely boutique hotel which gives you the impression that it is both old and traditional. Questioning reveals that the property had been set up in this format only 8 years ago though the look and feel seems right. Service was almost universally excellent and great efforts were made by all staff with communicating in English with us (they checked that it was my Birthday and provided a lovely cake and most of the staff on the day were primed to give Birthday wishes – rather nicely done and not tacky at all). Position is (very) close to key sites and in a side street which is quiet and "Houtong Like".
The location was fantastic and room was clean. It was nice to have a desk and chair to relax in the room and we had a nice view.
